Who are you online?
Social networking is kind of hazy when business and personal lives intersect online. I tweet and use facebook often and have both personal and business related friends on both. So typically I post jokes comments etc without thinking….so this was the kind of comment that friends or family may toss around and/or respond to it and appreciate the value of it. Then I remembered I have professional contacts on these social networking sites. One woudl assume that the professional contacts understand that when I communicate on that site I am doing so as private person. Therefore, I trust they can separate lame jokes, silly photos and other dopey clutter from the real me. But, is this a safe assumption? Should I censor my private persona? or perhaps create separate accounts? I am sure I am not the only one with this question. So I’l leave it up to you to decide, but with people’s life getting on the internet more then ever before this will continue to remain a concern and source of unwanted trouble if not properly handled.
